2nd Semi Final versus St Damians.
With 3 girls unavailable we yet again take the field below full strength. The first quarter was a cracker with our midfield dominating, giving our new look forward line great delivery. Shan, Jess and Phungy looked possessed with their attack on the footy sending the opposition a message that it was going to be a hard day. With Tina and Bonnie controlling the wings, our back line sat back and watched the quarter unfold. Our new look forward line of Sarge and Issy deep, Whitty at CHF flanked by Rechelle and Mei, all combining to either move ball into a good scoring area or applying enormous pressure to lock it in. A great first quarter.

The second quarter saw a fired up St Damians increase their tempo and score a goal right at the start. Not to be outdone our girls matched them and a dour struggled ensued for the quarter. Our backline was strong with Gunners playing well in the ruck and Dal Pos sweeping behind play. Abbs did not loose a contest to her opponent all quarter and was ably backed up by Yakka and Sarah. Sarah had the daunting task of taking their captain and main goal kicker Bec when forward and kept her goalless this quarter. We kicked a goal with our one shot this quarter which kept score board pressure on the opposition. Well done to all. Finals are won with quarters like this!

The third quarter saw our girls thrown around and this sparked them up for a match winning quarter. Loz came on and immediately created havoc with her pace and willingness to share the footy. We kicked another 4 goals 4 points to put the game out of St Damians reach. Who knows, maybe, just maybe we will kick straight in the next Final! We had lots of run out of the back line, great 2 way running by our mids and a forward line who led up at the kicker. Play like this and anything/everything is possible.

The last qtr started as the second with lots of stoppages by St Damians who tried to slow our running game down. This did not work as St Damians found out because we LOVE stoppages. Our girls just kept cracking in and enjoyed every moment to run away with a great win and a place in the big dance. All girls are to be congratulated for their 4 quarter effort.
We should be at full strength in 2 weeks time for the first time this year! Everybody touch wood and cross everything!
