A big congratulations to Drew George, our 2026 Darebin Women’s Sports Club Person of the Year!
Building cricket at Darebin
Drew has been a driving force behind our cricket program over the past few years, quietly putting in countless hours to keep things running and create more opportunities for people to play.
From working with other clubs, coaches and Cricket Victoria, to bringing back Cricket Blast and helping re-establish our senior cricket team, Drew has made a huge contribution to cricket at Darebin.
Allyship in action
What makes Drew so deserving of this award is the way he goes about it. He never seeks the spotlight, always makes time to help, and genuinely values the voices of women in shaping the future of the club.
He’s a wonderful example of what allyship looks like in practice, giving his time and energy to support opportunities for women, girls and gender-diverse players.
Thank you, Drew, for everything you do behind the scenes!
