164425_169129019791397_100000829018748_289792_1445099_n-1On a hot blustery Sunday (30/1) in Greensborough the Falcons played the 2nd placed Plenty Valley in a one day game.

The Falcons having come off some losses and a recent forfeit were desperate to regain that winning feeling.

With expectations that the game would be called off once the mercury hit 38 degrees the girls went into bat thinking the swimming pool/beach wouldn’t be too far away.

Bec & Julia went in and unfortunately lost Julia very quickly to a fine (very fine) knick to the wicket keeper, in came Taryn at three and she did not return to the sidelines until the end of the 40 overs.

The Falcons were not dismissed and went on to tally 239 with Taryn Escreet hitting an unbeaten 112 and Rebecca Hickmott 66.

With the temperature seemingly stuck at 37.5, the Falcons had to go into fielding mode and tiredness and wanting to swim had to be put on hold for another 40 overs.

The fielding and bowling effort in horrible conditions was amazing, bowling out Plenty Valley for 175.

Jane Lange 3/48, Jenny Christou 2/21 and Julia Boyle 2/25 all doing damage with the ball, with amazing catches from Faele and Buckets finishing off the lovely work.

Great work Falcons…..Next game at home this Saturday against Frankston 1pm start
