The mighty Falcons headed out to Upper Ferntree Gully on Saturday
(11/2) under a grey ominous skyline.
We headed into bat first wondering if the skies would open and
wash us out like the week before.
We got off to a flyer with Taz and Bec getting through the first 10 overs at an impressive 5 runs an over.When Taz went out (32runs) Spanna came in and the runs continued before Bec was out caught for 46, Spanna is in some kind of form, middling cut shots like she has been playing cricket non stop and ended her innings on 37 being caught behind. The scene was set for some lofty hitting and who better than Buckets and Daisy to to go crazy, Julia ended up on 98 not out and Daisy 11 not out off our alloted 34 overs….so 3/258 off 34 overs…thats 7.5 runs an over and an awesome afternoons work.Upper Ferntree Gully then went in to face the Darebin music and Daisy tore the openers apart with a blistering 7 over spell and reaping 3-18
(all bowled) and Faele OConnor bowled 8 overs 1 for 14. With an opening combo like that UFG were never going to get near the runs.
An awesome team effort with great first up appearance by Paxy and a sneaky 3 over spell from Brenda Lang and a lot of sprinting between overs by Spanna, all in all a great “funny” day with the Falcons in white.
