The tender application process has now closed for the Soccer Clubrooms upgrade and the successful applicant will be announced on November 7th with building to continue shortly after. The building works were stalled back in June after the previous builder went into liquidation. Updates to the process and the opportunity to provide feedback will be posted on the Council website here:

In addition, re-surfacing works have commenced at AH Capp Reserve. As it is fenced off from public access we are unable to use the ground until after Christmas, playing havoc with planned off season activities and pre-season training. More info will circulate about alternatives venues for these activities as it becomes available.
Finally, Darebin Falcons will benefit from three recent government announcements:
1. Winner of the local Pick My Project competition – Bell Primary School Community Sports Oval for that Falcons to use for soccer training and clinics
2. An upgrade to Bill Lawry Oval, home ground of our VFLW team, to make it accessible to female athletes, removing a major barrier to women’s participation in sports.
3. Funding for sports ground lighting at Mayer Park which we are negotiating to use as an additional training venue for our soccer teams.
