Shan Egan makes Falcon History!!!
A member of the original Darebin Falcon U18 youth girls team in 2008, current co-captain Shannon Egan is the first player in Darebins history to reach 50 games as a mini-falcon. This is an outstanding achievement accumulated over 5 impressive seasons. A talented ruck man, known for her exceptional stoppage work and strong marking, Shan is an inspirational leader at the club, her calm nature often coming in handy when dealing with over excited Justin Bieber loving teenage girls.
Not only has she put in the hard work at the dog poop covered A.H Capp, Egan has represented the NFL at two metropolitan champs, is a member of the Victorian Youth Girls Academy Squad and has been selected to represent Victoria in 2011 and 2012. Unfortunately due to a heartbreaking hamstring injury just two days before she was due to fly out Shanny missed this years national champs but in an outstanding display of character she came back better than ever, booting 4 goals in her senior debut.
When asked earlier this season why she loved playing at Darebin, Shans response was simply… “we don’t have any bitches, I can go for the footy because I know my team will have my back.”
This is her last year playing with her beloved falcon youthies, we wish her all the best for the rest of the season and congratulations on 50 incredible games!!! Well done!!!
