Our 2024 Annual Community Fun Day saw A. H. Capp Reserve bathed in sunshine and smiles, as Falcons new and old gathered ahead of a new season.
Coaches, emerging leaders, community volunteers and even some of our biggest sporting stars including Darcy Vescio and Katie Brennan turned up to talk with new families and give them a taste of the Club.
We were joined by leaders from all levels of government, The Hon. Ged Kearney MP and Nathan Lambert MP, as well as our City of Darebin Mayor Susanne Newton and Councillors Emily Dimatriades and Trent McCarthy. They spoke to the importance of welcoming communities like the Falcs, and creating positive health outcomes for all.
Small groups were set up for everyone and anyone to come and try or learn new skills in aussie rules, soccer, and cricket.
Club President Jane Ryan explained how we’re committed to continuing to make a difference.
With our fabulous community, we are sharing skills, experiences and enthusiasm for greater participation opportunities for women, girls and gender diverse people.
Last year, over forty teams competed in these sports, providing opportunities for over 750 women and girls to play sport in an inclusive, encouraging, supportive and safe environment.
