Seniors

45123_490876219045_508034045_6987345_1045607_nWell done to the seniors for making it 5 in a row, with the reserves breaking the Grand Final cycle and going back to back and the Youth Girls from one end of the ladder to the other!

It was a Mcbeautiful day for football! Diamo thought they’d take an advantage by clapping the umpires onto the ground and Coutta pointed out that “why not they’re on your side”.

Bobby was a superstar singing the anthem and then the game was on!

The first quarter was a tough battle but thanks to Sammy and Steph roving in the forward line we went in to the quarter time break ahead. The highlight of the quarter was Chinny’s attempt at mark of the year, what a ride but would have been better if she touched the ball.

The second quarter was a close contest as Diamo closed the gap on the scoreboard but out of nowhere Coutta stepped up and kicked goal of the year, which inspired the whole team. (although we were all exhausted from running to her. I think the bench may have even run onto the ground)

The second half was more like our season we linked up, supported each other and with a backline that wouldn’t let the ball through, we kicked away. Apart from Aasta getting sent off it was our premiership quarter.

The last quarter was about finishing the season off as the great team we are and celebrating the 5th flag in a row.

Special Mentions

To the centre circle that was located in the back pocket near the housing commission flats.

To the ENFORCER, who saved Schwager from at least 18 Diamo players.

To Coutta cos if  it wasn’t for her goal we probably wouldn’t have won.

To Schwager for kicking a goal from the middle, which for some reason no one could get a finger on.

To Aasta for her best on ground performance.

To the whole team for a great season and to Pete who can boast 5 years undefeated! Good luck trying to leave.

Reserves

44593_455512119803_751804803_6434618_3137263_nThe sun was shining and the Falcons ready to soar to the great game they call football.

The first quarter showed how hungry the devils were to win, scoring the first point of the 1st quarter, an intense quarter saw the Devils closing the quarter 2 points ahead. After some harsh words from Potter at quarter time, the girls started the second quarter with something to prove. After a goalless first term Crystal scored the Falcons first goal. with some wasted opportunities by East Burwood Aleisha McClean added to the scoreboard for the Falcs before halftime.

A halftime rev-up from Bradders, kicked the Falcons into gear during the “premiership quarter”. A lot of gut running and hard hits enabled a 4 goal lead going into the final term.

Final quarter the devils showed some heart kicking the first 2 goals but the flight of the Falcons proved too strong and ended as premiers by 31 points.

Special  Mentions

To Adele for 100 games.

To Taz and Bec for “using their heads”

To Tam for some long ruck hitouts
