Once upon a time a few girls came together and all they wanted to do was play footy. Fast forward nearly 30 years, and you have one of the most successful female sporting clubs of all time. In 2005, Darebin City Council fought to provide Darebin Women’s Sports Club with its own purpose built facilities. We’re excited to announce that filming has already started for a short documentary on the rise of the falcons in the face of adversity. This is a story of what happens when you invest in women’s sport, and challenge the status quo of gender inequality. We’ve come a long way, but there’s still work to do. Watch this space!
