Darebin Falcons Junior Soccer Girls made their debut on the big stage at the Veneto Club last month when they accompanied W-League teams Melbourne Victory and Canberra United on to the pitch as Mascots during their recent summer holiday clash.

In front of a 1500 strong crowd, the girls from the U7 and U9 Junior soccer program waited nervously in the players race before each of them accompanied a senior player onto the pitch at the start of the game.

The girls were then free to watch their idols in action

for the first half where Melbourne Victory went ahead 1-0 with a penalty from Jodi Taylor. As the first 45 minutes drew to a close, the Falcons girls were in the spotlight again, taking to the pitch again in a game of Small Sided Football which they thoroughly enjoyed.

In the second half of the W-League match Canberra United equalised through star striker Michelle Heyman. With the match finishing 1-1, the girls went home inspired and very excited to have been part of such a great match.
