Volunteers are the lifeblood of our great club and each month we like to acknowledge the contributions of those who have gone above and beyond for the mighty Falcons.

May Volunteer of the Month – Jane Costello

When Jane, a physiotherapist and soccer mum, volunteered to help all our junior and Senior Soccer Teams update their first aid kits, she didn’t quite know what she was getting herself into! Her first task was an audit of all the first aid material we currently had and to throw out anything that was out of date.  After unearthing some dressings dating back to 1989 and filling two garbage bags, she was ready to begin re-stocking and re-distributing the kits before the first round of soccer games. This included a large main first aid kit to be held at the club rooms, 17 individual travelling kits for Junior Teams and 2 larger kits for Senior Teams.

It was a massive job but Jayne did it all efficiently, economically and with a smile on her face. Thank you, Jane!

LinetteJune Volunteer of the Month – Linette Laverdure

In 2017 Linette decided to take a break from playing to come on board as VFL team manager. She has been efficient and enthusiastic in everything required of the role. On top of this, Linette managed to get through the enormous task of ordering ALL senior playing uniforms and warm up tops from four different suppliers… while still smiling!

Linette was absolutely instrumental in helping coordinate the VFL Pride and Inclusion game in Hamilton which was a huge success.

We love her organised and ‘can do’ attitude, she’s a great club person and it’s an absolute pleasure to announce her as volunteer of the month!
