It is that time of the year again down at AH Capp.

You can almost smell the sweat and feel that nauseous feeling in your gut… PRESEASON IS UPON US!

Where: AH Capp Reserve, Halwyn Crescent, Preston West (except for the occasional session which may be held externally at the gym etc -TBA)
Bring: Runners, water, hard working attitude.

In previous years preseason has been the domain of the players and has relied on those with a bit of knowledge/experience in the field to conduct the sessions.

In a really positive step towards raising the bar again, this year the Falcons welcome Exercise Physiologist & Personal Trainer Tennille Hay as our head Strength & Conditioning Coach.

Tennille is an accredited and highly experienced exercise physiologist and personal trainer who graduated with a Masters in Exercise Rehabilitation from the Australian Catholic University.

Tennille has worked with people in the areas of strength and conditioning, and injury rehabilitation for almost a decade. She has practiced both within the public setting at Strive Health Management, Flemington and with sports clubs, where her real passion lies. She has worked closely with the VWFL State Team/Academy, the VFL, basketball and dancing.

Supporting Tennille will be Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach Aleisha Leonard.

You might recognise Leash from her white sports-trainer top in 2013, and this year she is back, helping us with pre-season training as well! In her final year of study in Exercise Science Leash is passionate about Strength & Conditioning and is enthusiastic about working alongside someone with Tennille’s experience.

“I am about to start my 3rd and final year of an Exercise Science degree. I’m happy to admit I don’t know that much about footy – but my knowledge about the science behind exercise is ever increasing, and I can’t wait to put it into practice.

I think with some more specialised strength and conditioning, in 2014 we can aim to reduce injuries, speed up recovery and have another fantastic season. I have a special interest in endurance running, and nutrition – yes, I’m in the gluten free club.”

We are excited to have both Tennille and Aleisha on board, and welcome them to our team of coaches for 2014.

Falcons from all sports and NEW players are welcome and encouraged to attend.
